Inventory Analyst

Position Mission

The Inventory Analyst is committed to overseeing the accuracy of all materials in the warehouse. They oversee every stage of the organization’s supply chain, from purchasing raw materials and MRO to shipping finished products. They ensure that inventory is closely managed and optimized for production to ensure nothing is damaged or wasted during this complex process. They will make it their mission to streamline our purchasing, logistics, and inventory management. They are a critical member of the cross-functional team supporting production and sales and will work closely with various internal teams to communicate status updates and needs in a timely manner.

Measures of Success
The Inventory Analyst will:
• Manage accurate inventory of warehouse materials and ensure accuracy in the ERP system
• Communicate part shortages or material issues with sales and production teams
• Streamline inventory storage for efficiencies and stage all materials for upcoming builds
• Receive all inbound materials and process all outbound shipments both physically and in the ERP system
• Resolve shipping related issues, such as delays or customs clearance problems
• Ensure on-time delivery of finished goods to customers
• Preparation of purchasing documents, including RFQ’s, quote comparisons, timeline analysis against project deliverables, and issuing purchase orders
• Manage supplier relationships and maintain list of eligible suppliers
• Analyze material sources and evaluate alternative sourcing options
• Evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers based on quantity, quality, cost, and delivery
• Monitor shipments to ensure timely arrival of materials and manage quality issues with supply base
• Manage material min/max levels in ERP to ensure proper inventory levels based on supplier lead times
• Drive cost savings through continuous improvement
• Analyze ERP material costs against sales quoted material costs and escalate to leadership team when costs are outside targeted margins
• Work with Accounting to ensure timely entry data and accuracy of info in the ERP system
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality and sales to align inventory levels with production schedules and customer demands
• Participate in regular production meetings to communicate inventory updates, address shortages/excesses, and support production planning activities

Candidates must have:
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with the production, accounting, sales, and engineering teams
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive decision-making
• 3 years of experience in materials management
• 3 years of experience working with ERP systems, Plex is preferred
• Strong computer skills, specifically with Excel
• Purchasing experience, preference given to those familiar with electronic components
• An associate degree is required, preference may be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree
